Cream tea

Come and paint, draw and create in the beautiful grounds of Weycroft Hall for our first ever Arts Day. Whether you're an accomplished artist or complete beginner, there will be space for you to enjoy re-creation with the encouragement of others, in the peace that this place provides. Just bring your easel, set up & paint!

Please bring your own packed lunch. Tea & coffee will be provided.

The day ticket includes a complimentary Cream Tea served from 3.15pm!

Local artist Becca Marrais will be on hand to give encouragement, tips and suggestions for those who'd like them. Becca will also be displaying & selling her range of Red Tribe jewellery, sold to empower vulnerable Masai women!

Wet Weather Routine: We're hoping for a glorious sunny day! If it is raining, we will use the Great Hall, but if you choose not to come, we are happy to give you a full refund!

WC's & Disabled access There is a disabled WC on site, and 2 WC's at the back of the Great Hall.

Judith Champion

11am-1pm
Beginners Drawing Class with Judith Champion, £5.
Always fancied having a go at drawing or painting, but don't feel any good, or know where to start? Judith's workshop will get you seeing & capturing your surroundings in a whole new way. You'll be shown how to make your own little folding sketch book, and enabled by Judith's expert tuition and encouragement, you'll use pencils, pens and watercolours to fill it with the glory of Weycroft garden!

Therapeutic and a whole lot of fun!

For total beginners, up, Sandra's demonstration and workshop will get you thinking about and painting angels before you know it. You may touch into more than just a painting!

Mini tour of Weycroft Hall. Vince Turner, Free

Owner, and chief scone baker, Vince, will give a mini history of the Hall & the gardens, from it's Roman roots, through centuries of radical, non-conformist Christianity, to present day use.

Demonstration: Drawing a face and it's proportions with Nigel Rose-Walton. Free
How do you get this right? Nigel will talk through and demonstrate how to get your faces more like Reubens and less like Picasso, if that's what you're trying to do!

Beginner's Paint Pouring: Celebrating Colour with Clio Turner £5 
Everyone can join in this fun packed hour of paint pouring with Clio, exploring the effects of acrylic hues on natural substances. You will take home your own work: a pebble and/ or a canvas.
